Q. How will I know if the jury trial is cancelled?

If the cases or cases scheduled for trial are settled far enough ahead of the scheduled trial date, our office will notify you by mail, telephone, text or email.

A Jury Information Line (618) 664-2824 is placed into service beginning at 5:00pm on the Friday prior to the Monday trial date and remains in operation until 9:00am on the Monday trial date. This information line will be updated as needed throughout the weekend. While this office will do everything possible to keep you informed, it is your responsibility to call this number.

Radio station WGEL (101.7 FM) will also be informed of any trial cancellations and they will report it during their regular newscasts (weekdays at 6:00, 7:00, 8:00, 9:00, noon, 4:00, 5:00, and 6:00, Saturday at 7:00 and 8:00 and noon, Sunday at 9:00 and 10:00am and noon)

Q. How long will I have to serve on jury duty?

Generally, a jury panel is subject to call for three separate trial dates. Since Bond County does not have jury trials on a regularly scheduled bases, it is difficult to say exactly how long a period of time this will cover but typically , your service will last about 9 months.
